Frequently Asked Questions
What gestation should I start parentcraft classes with The Naked Midwives?
We will welcome you at any stage of your pregnancy, however most people find it beneficial to start classes from 28 weeks to 38 weeks. Just remember that you will want to finish the course before you have your baby, so leave enough time!
So when should I book?
You can book as early as 12 weeks following your dating scan, however, most women book around 20 weeks gestation.
Are classes always taught by experienced midwives?
Yes! Every class offered by The Naked Midwives is run by an experienced and qualified midwife.
Do I need to have a birth partner with me?
Most pregnant women find it beneficial to have a birth partner with them so you both learn together and have similar expectations of labour and childbirth. However we do understand that two people can have exactly the same experience yet a different understanding – so do please ask questions during the course! In some cases women may wish to birth alone so please remember your Midwife is your advocate. Our courses are open to both women attending with birth partners or women attending alone.
Do I need to bring anything?
You may want a note book and pen at the ready and, of course, be sat somewhere comfortable.
What if I am expecting Twins?
When you are expecting twins you will be under consultant led care. However this does not mean to say you do not have birth choices and the exact same birth preparation education would be greatly valuable. Your birth partner would benefit hugely from these classes.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancelling more than one month before start date – 50% refund
Cancelling two weeks before start date – 25% refund
We do understand that pregnancy is unpredictable and we will endeavour to rearrange your course dates where possible at no extra cost to you. Our aim is to keep class numbers small in order that everyone gains the most from the parent craft education so it may not always be possible to get you on an alternative course in your area.
How do we keep in contact with others on our course?
Once you have attended a course by The Naked Midwives, we will set up a sub-group from our Facebook page that is for your fellow class mates only. This makes keeping in touch easier and opens up an invaluable support network for your journey.
How can I pay for my Naked Midwives course?

Payment will then be taken online.
Who will benefit from The Naked Midwives?
The courses are principally aimed at first time parents, however we understand that things change frequently within maternity care and therefore would suggest second time parents can always benefit from up to date information and making new friends.
